# AICMS customer guides

English customer edition, 29 September 2026.

Open [the guide collection](index.html) in a browser. The collection works locally;
an internet connection is needed only when following external legal sources.
The EN/NL links switch to the matching page when the English and Dutch edition
folders are kept side by side. A single-language ZIP contains only its own edition.

## Choose a reading level

| Guide | Intended use | Formats |

| Controls Reference | Examine individual submission checks, workflow safeguards and calculations | [Web](03-controls-reference.html), [PDF](03-controls-reference.pdf), [text](03-controls-reference.md) |
| Responsibility Map | Relate product support to the AI Act's articles and annexes | [Web](04-coverage-and-responsibilities.html), [PDF](04-coverage-and-responsibilities.pdf), [text](04-coverage-and-responsibilities.md) |

These are reading levels, not commercial licence tiers.

For a particular finding, use the [searchable catalogue](checks.html). Its
[CSV](submission-checks.csv) and [JSON](submission-checks.json) contain the same
226 distinct submission-check identifiers. The [responsibility data](responsibility-map.json)
contains 119 article entries and 14 annex entries. Those counts describe the
reference inventory; they are not a measure of legal completeness.

## How to interpret this edition

Product claims were reviewed against implementation and screen definitions.
This is not evidence that a particular customer environment is deployed or
configured, nor a report of newly executed application tests. Availability,
permissions and scheduled services are confirmed during onboarding.

The guides distinguish recorded evidence, software controls, guidance and the
work that remains with people or external bodies. In particular, internal
publication is not certification, an uploaded document is not proof of its
adequacy, and a submission check does not stop an external AI system operating.

The legal baseline is [Regulation (EU) 2024/1689](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1689/oj/eng),
read with [Regulation (EU) 2026/1744](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/ALL/?uri=CELEX%3A32026R1744).
The Responsibility Map explains official sources, review scope and application
dates. Official law and the facts of the individual case govern legal decisions.

## Files and accessibility

The web guides include navigation, selectable text, keyboard focus styles and
responsive layouts. The search runs entirely in the browser and sends no queries
to a service. PDFs contain selectable text, bookmarks and linked contents;
the HTML versions provide the more flexible reading format. No formal PDF/UA
conformance assessment is claimed.

Keep the `assets` folder alongside the HTML and CSS files. The supplied text
sources allow editorial reuse; keep the edition and qualifications with any
excerpt so that readers do not mistake a partial description for a broader claim.

Typography uses **C2L Guide Sans**, an outline-converted derivative of Adobe
Source Sans Pro, renamed under the SIL Open Font License. The licence and
copyright notice are in [assets/OFL-LICENSE.md](assets/OFL-LICENSE.md).
